Grandparents Day is a day to celebrate the wonderful elders in our lives. It’s a day to show our appreciation for all they’ve done for us, and to make sure they know how much we care. Grandparents are often the unsung heroes of the family. They usually don’t get the same credit as parents or even children, but they play a vital role in the lives of their grandchildren. One of the most significant benefits of having grandparents around is the wisdom they can offer. They offer us advice and share their life experiences with us. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of families who are living far away from their grandparents. While technology has made it easier to stay in touch, there’s nothing quite like spending time together in person. If you have the opportunity to visit your grandparents, or even just to give them a call, take advantage of it! Another benefit of having grandparents in our lives is the sense of security and stability they provide. In a world that is often chaotic and unpredictable, grandparents can be a source of comfort and support.

So today, on National Grandparents Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate all that our elders have to offer!

Happy Grandparent's day

As I have mentioned before, I am adopted, so I would have 4 sets of grandparents. At this point, I have 2 grandparents left my grandfather on my bio mom's side and my grandmother on my bio dad's side. I did not grow up with them so it's difficult to write a post appreciating them. I know them and I love them but since they weren't a major figure in my life I will dedicate this post to my parents in honor of my children. My parents are more than just grandparents when it comes to my kids. They are more like a second parent. They will each get one paragraph to share how wonderful they are. I asked the older kids Malice and Boss to write one thing for each grandparent so that is what I am sharing today.

My adoptive father

PaPa

My adoptive father passed away in 2014 so he is no longer living to be there for my children but I know he is watching over us.

Malice-"One thing I love about my papa is how he was my hero, my protector, and overall someone I looked up to. He was and still is an amazing caring person who I feel everyone loved to be around. that's probably why granng fell in love with him. He was also the only. man I really felt that was in my life that cared for me like I was meant to do great things. He was and still is the only one I looked at like a father aside from my uncle B."

Boss-"Papa has always been there for me and even when I'm down or sad he always tried to make it up to me are make me happy."

My adoptive Mother-Angel

Angel

My adoptive mother is an angel in our lives whenever I need her all I have to do is pick up the phone no matter the time of the day or night.

Malice-"One thing I love about my Granny aka Dee as I used to call her is how caring and supportive she is. She's been there my whole life and helped my mom and the rest of us when we were struggling with anything and she still does to this day."

Boss-"Granny is nice and kind."

My biological Father-Grandpa

Grandpa

My biological father is awesome. Having him there for me and the kids especially after I lost my dad had been a blessing.

Malice-"One thing I love about Grandpa is how he spent so long to find us and be in our lives even though he didn't know me and my siblings. He only knew about my mom. He never treated any of us differently than his other grandkids whom he knew longer and actually knew of. He loved and cared for us like he's known us our whole lives. I'm so happy that he found us and includes himself in our lives every day."

Boss-"Grandpa is always chill, funny, and kind."

my biological mother-MeMe

MeMe

My biological mother is my rock there is nothing I could share with her that she would ever judge me for. After I had Buddy and was dealing with my PPD she was a godsend just taking care of all of us.

Malice-"One thing I love about MeMe is how she got her life together to be in her families' lives and that shows her love for us. I'm so lucky to have her in my life as my grandmother."

Boss-"She always brings snacks and food."

Grandparents Day is a national holiday that celebrates the contributions of grandparents to the lives of their grandchildren. Our grandparents have wisdom and stories that can teach us about the past and help us to understand the present. They have also contributed to our world in many ways, from their work to their families. This day is an opportunity for us to take time out of our busy lives to appreciate our elders and the wisdom they can offer. So take a moment today to call your grandparents, and let them know how much you appreciate them.
